hmm odd it broke mine.

in the new IO80211Famlily.kext in the plugins folder there is a new plugin for Atheros chips and its called the AppleAtheros.kext or .plugin i dont remember.

but this new plugin has the pci-id's of 168c,24 and 168c,23

i checked into the old atheros5XXX plugin and it had the correct id's and such but it still shows up no airport hardware found.

i also added my pci-id into the new plugin to no avail. so it might be the new framework thats messing with it.

let me know if anyone else has a problem with this.

*edit Im using a belkin f5d7001 pci card*

hehe im an idiot... was editing for my atheros cards

tottaly safe update for broadcom cards like my Belkin F5D7001 (uses this key >14e4,4320</)

i had to force quit the installer then edit the info.plist of the AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext to insert the key above

then opened terminal and did the chmod and chown of the IO80211Family.kext

then while still in terminal i did a diskutil repairPermissions /

then did a restart and all was well again.

will update when i try on an atheros card.

The Linksys WMP 300n PCI wireless n card is plug and go with the new Airport 2007 update that Apple posted yesterday This adds support for new Atheros chips. You may have to redo any edititing that you had performed to get any other pci network cards going though.

It is still only 54g until Apple presumably release their driver enableing n

i have been having problems with this update.

After about 10 minutes it will lose signal and never come back again until a restart.

so i made myself a fixer package which reverts everything back to the way it was before the update.

(PM Me if you need this package)

so if anyone is having as much trouble as i was with this update, please feel free to let me know.
