Guest bikedude880
Downloading and seeing what's inside it (I got this update in Software Update ^.^) It sounds like it's only a security update. EDIT: Here's what's inside the installer: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39944-airport-extreme-update-2007-001/#findComment-285217 Share on other sites

Guest bikedude880
Nothing seems to be problematic, testing it out now. Hope it doesn't screw up the wireless... Guest bikedude880
Nothing died over the update. Don't forget to put your dev id back into the appropriate plist file. Cheers! DiaboliK
hmm odd it broke mine. in the new IO80211Famlily.kext in the plugins folder there is a new plugin for Atheros chips and its called the AppleAtheros.kext or .plugin i dont remember. but this new plugin has the pci-id's of 168c,24 and 168c,23 i checked into the old atheros5XXX plugin and it had the correct id's and such but it still shows up no airport hardware found. i also added my pci-id into the new plugin to no avail. so it might be the new framework thats messing with it. let me know if anyone else has a problem with this. *edit Im using a belkin f5d7001 pci card* Edited January 26, 2007 by DiaboliK Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39944-airport-extreme-update-2007-001/#findComment-285785 Share on other sites
macmaniac
Yikes. I'm using a Belkin F5D7000. I'll try it on the spare partition first, when I get a chance..... not in any hurry 'cause I'm using the onboard GLAN. aqua-mac
The Linksys WMP 300n PCI wireless n card is plug and go with the new Airport 2007 update that Apple posted yesterday This adds support for new Atheros chips. You may have to redo any edititing that you had performed to get any other pci network cards going though. It is still only 54g until Apple presumably release their driver enableing n Edited January 27, 2007 by poodle2118 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39944-airport-extreme-update-2007-001/#findComment-286308 Share on other sites
psionic68
The Airport Extreme update made me lose Wifi. I had to replace IO80211Family.kext from an older install to fix it again. I paniced I suppose - what I really should have done is experimented with changing device IDs etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39944-airport-extreme-update-2007-001/#findComment-288513 Share on other sites
DiaboliK
i have been having problems with this update. After about 10 minutes it will lose signal and never come back again until a restart. so i made myself a fixer package which reverts everything back to the way it was before the update. (PM Me if you need this package) so if anyone is having as much trouble as i was with this update, please feel free to let me know.
