My system is an nForce 4 motherboard with an AMD 3700+ with SSE2, SSE3, the works...

I'm using a hard drive with Vista installed on the first partition and I installed OSX on the second partition.

I installed OSX 10.4 using VMWare because normally, it wouldn't detect any hard drives in the installation.

The VMWare installation went smoothly without any errors other than once installed the Audio and Network doesn't work.

Using VMWare, I can boot the installed OSX and everything works fine.

But when booting OSX normally (not using VMWare), the gray loading screen with the apple comes up and appears to be loading for about 20 seconds and then an error logo (Circle w/ a Line through it) shows up right above the apple logo and it doesn't do anything from there...

Is there a way to go into verbose mode (-v) before this point? It seems to jump straight to the loading screen right away...

What's going on? Does OSX not have the drivers for my nForce controllers for the hard drives, etc.?

It will load when I boot OSX in VMWare...

Thanks,

After reading around, I found out that OSXx86 doesn't support SATA drives yet, and that would be why it wasn't working, only in VMWare was it able to work.

So I'm moving a couple hundred gigs of files around so I can use one of my 250gb IDE Drives for the OSX installation.

I'll report back with my success or if I have any issues.

I just got everything working after installing to a 250 GB IDE hard drive...

I've always hated Macs because I couldn't stand the interface, it was frickin hard to use when you know nothing about the OS and I just didn't really like it. But I figured what the hell, might as well give it a try... and I must say, OSX is a pretty amazing OS.

And sure is pretty cool being able to quad-boot between Win XP, Vista, KUbuntu, and now OSX!

Here's a screenshot of my desktop after getting it installed :)
