pocopico
Hello, i have upgraded my laptop from 10.4.7 having all tiny topics solved to 10.4.8 where i had to resolve every little peace again. My main problem that is not yet solved is that after my system boots i can clearly see the mouse pointer in the foreground but in the background i only see a black screen and few random blue stripes or parts. I can blindly type or click and shutdown my system which means the system is actually working but for some reason the display is not working correctly. I have tried to reinstall the Intel GMA 900 package fix permissions and cleared cache and reboot. The Laptop though successfully loads and the display is working fine if i boot with the "-x" option. Every hint would be useful, Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39864-nc6220-upgraded-to-1048-using-jas-dvd/ Share on other sites
pocopico
I have tried the Jas GMA 900 files which actually have those files but didnt work for unknown reason so i thought i should try to restore them myself. I have done the following to fix the problem i was having with the display. I have backed up the following files from my 10.4.7 installation $ tar cvf GMA900.tar /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntel* /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL* copied over to my 10.4.8 installation and did $ cd / $ tar xvf GMA900.tar $ cd /System/Library/ $ rm Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache $ diskutil repairpermissions / $ reboot thanx people. P.S. Somehow we should keep a repository of the needed (working) kexts by case. at least only those that are legal to share.
