Hi all,

I have a strange problem with 10.4.8. I just change my AMD system with a Intel Core2Duo System on a mainboard Gigabyte 965P DS3. I boot from a USB-DVD follow the instructions, partition the HD, install what I need, and when the setup arrive at the end, I press Restart, and the system block...

I give a manual reset...and after that the system don't boot from hard disk.

I try to install 10.4.5, I have the same problem at the end, but the system boot OSX, but when I try to give a restart or Shutdown, the system block!

Anyone have idea about what happen?

Thks!

exactly what happened after you booted after installing 10.4.8? my system doesnt restart either after install.. dont worry about it not restarting at the end, a manual restart after its done the restarting process and starts idiling does the same thing.

your disk may be missing a boot sequence, use hirens boot cd to make it bootable. just google it and download it and boot ur computer off the boot cd, and on there u can make that hdd bootable.

I don't know exactly if I have a new or old version of 10.4.8. I have Jas 10.4.8 Intel edition... don't work on AMD!

I install first 10.4.5 and I make upgrade and work....but all the time I receive "Waiting for root device" after the second restart...and don't see my second HD.

I find a Patch that fix reboot....wrong! Destroy reboot! After I apply this patch...the computer automatically restart!

Ayway, I think the problem on my mainboard is someware into a new version of one chip! I don't know exactly! I buy this mainboard last week, and I don't have so much time to analyze all the things inside!

I will try to search for a new version on 10.4.8 (maybe if someone have a good link send me on PM) and after that I will come back with new conclusions!
