BioGene
Hey everyone, I wanted to try out Mac OS X tiger on my PC before actually buying it, and also to try and fell how it looks like and all so when I do get it I won't break it automatically lol [Joking]! Anyways I wanted to know would my PC handle the OS, here is a list of my specs: Processor: Celeron 2.80 GHz RAM: 512 MB GPU: nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 MB HDD: 80 GB [With Linux taking all/Can partition] So I just wanted to know if my computer would be able to install Mac OS X and run it properly? I would really love to try it out and demo it out in my PC! EDIT: Hey can anyone help me out here, need an answer. Also is it allowed to give me out a link or name of a file of which I should download. I am not sure which file to download to obtain the OS! macgirl
More important than the Proc speed is the Processor capabilities, you need at least SSE2. Also most of the chipsets work, only some SIS chipsets have issues that prevent to run it nativelly. 四川成都
你可以用cpu-z来看看你的u支持不支持see2 如果支持的话就可以装,不过麻烦的是你的网卡&声卡这类的安装~~~ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39579-can-my-computer-run-mac-os-x/#findComment-283294 Share on other sites
Sailfish
Could you post your motherboard model? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39579-can-my-computer-run-mac-os-x/#findComment-283400 Share on other sites
Reanimation_LP
It should work fine. The Celeron 2.8 GHz has at least SSE2. What you need to look for is a JaS release. Look in the usual places. bubugugu
celeron would definitely work however the old celeron has only SSE2 while the new celeron D has SSE3 you should use CPU-Z to check which your cpu model is.
