MacOSMatt
Hey all. im so desperate to upgrade to 10.4.8 it hurts i just tried to install the Kiko 10.4.8 Final SSE3 Intel.mpkg but at the end of installation it says 'an error occured during installation. try installing again' then my computer isnt recognised as a core 2 duo, but as an unknown 4ghz processor it still reckons it updated to 10.4.8 according to 'about my mac' anyway i would love it if someone could tell me what im doing wrong here.. my comp specs are as shown below. anyone ever have trouble with the kiko intel only SSE3 version? also, if u install osx ticking ONLY sse3 and it runs fine.. is there a slight chance u have a sse2 and it just works? cause my computer seems to show all the symptoms of being sse2.. though its core 2 duo which is new so guess it is sse3 any help greatly appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39498-updating-to-1048-from-47-an-error-occured-during-installation/ Share on other sites
IgnorantAlmond
Well, to be quick, you're going to run into issues with hacked update files. These are modded out to work with systems without crashing. Your best bet would be to snag a different update file. Oh, and don't do what I did - create a backup image for the worst case scenario Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39498-updating-to-1048-from-47-an-error-occured-during-installation/#findComment-282442 Share on other sites
MacOSMatt
apart from the 2.something gb 10.4.8 install dvd for amd and intel, the intel only 10.4.8 update is the only one mentioned in my post i dont think there is any other version of it for sse3 and intel. plenty of sse2 for intel and amd as i can see.. unless anyone is in new zealand and can send me that install dvd?
