sammander
Hey everyone, just frustrated, and tired of looking. I just installed 10.4.7 JaS DVD on Dell Lat. D600. Install goes fine, chose all optional patches, etc. During darwin boot, the screen eventually just starts displaying vertical color bars. I know it is something simple but I haven't been able to find out how to get past this point. Darwin detect ATI mobility 9000, and I also know that it is not in a panic of some sort cause the HD light continues to flicker. Any help or links would be apperciated. -Arash Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39432-vertical-flashing-bars-on-screen/ Share on other sites

frizbot
Graphics card driver problem. When in doubt, install the latest and greatest. JaS 10.4.8 with PPF comes with Titan drivers for nVidia that have helped a lot of people, and it may have something better for ATI cards than 10.4.7. I don't follow ATI, so thats all I can suggest as a fix. You could try an external monitor, or specifying the correct screen resolution in the boot.plist by editing it in single user mode, but thats quite complex for a new user. Better to go with the new DVD.
