ABrad45
I'm using the guide from http://profit42.com/?p=2 and am currently stuck. I posted this as a reply to that guide: I’m having two errors, the latter possibly because of the former. I’m typing in: “dd if=tiger-x86-flat.img of=\\?\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1 bs=512 skip=63″ And getting the following in return: rawwrite dd for windows version 0.3. Written by John Newbigin This program is covered by the GPL. See copying.txt for details Error native opening file: 0 The operation completed successfully I don’t know what operation completed successfully, and the line “this can take 10 minutes or 2 hours” makes me a little wary, since that appeared immediately after I typed in that line. No waiting time at all… So I figured I’d stop and try again later. Well I went to set up the dual boot, and boot.ini isn’t in the c:\ directory. Well, it is, but it’s not showing, and even when I show hidden files it doesn’t… So I opened it by manually opening it by typing in the filename in Notepad, but even then, since it’s read-only, I can’t save over it. This could cause me some issues when I get to step three, any advice??? You can also inform me at ABrad45@gmail.com THANKS! ABrad45
Okay, scratch that, I was being a moron, and typing in the wrong partition number I just might have it from here on out... But I've still got an issue with the boot.ini (which hopefully doesn't have as stupid of a fix Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3938-error-with-dd/#findComment-25245 Share on other sites
Zeph
As far as I know, there is no working way to install the Deadmoo image to a partition, go download the Developer DVD and install that Dual Boot. ABrad45
You mean I need to install it on my spare 40GB? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3938-error-with-dd/#findComment-25322 Share on other sites
flibblesan
As far as I know, there is no working way to install the Deadmoo image to a partition, go download the Developer DVD and install that Dual Boot. You are incorrect. You can use DD to copy the Deadmoo image to a partition.
