I've tried a 128mb Nvidia Quadro4 900 XGL and a 64mb Nvidia Quadro4 700 XGL card (currently trying the 700) and I can't get either to work. Using the JAS disc with the SSE2 semthex kernel, I can't seem to get either card to work with either Natit or Titan. I will install the driver, and when it is rebooting, at the grey apple screen I get the error message saying "you must shutdown or restart your computer".

So this error message doesn't give any other information, and I am completely unable to boot into the OS. And being as I'm a total noob, I can't figure out how to boot into a "safe mode" type environment where I might be able to fix anything, so I just have to reinstall the whole darn OS each time I try a different driver. (any help here?)

When I install the OS without natit or titan, it will boot to the desktop and work, but it will have serious screen artifacts when I move or scroll a window. When I manually install the drivers, I will put my device ID in these three files:

GeForce.kext

NVDAResman.kext

NVDANV20Hal.kext

But I actually copy all of the files into the /extentions/ folder (ie: the 10Hal, 30Hal, 40Hal, etc). Is that a mistake? I then repair all the permisssions, reboot, and the same thing happens every time... "you must shutdown or restart your computer"

These are the device IDs I'm using for the two cards:

0258 = "NVIDIA Quadro4 900 XGL"

025B = "NVIDIA Quadro4 700 XGL"

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could get either of these two cards working, or how I can boot back into the OS once I hose it?

I haven't tried this yet, since I just got a Quadro4 900 to play with today (and wanted to check upfront what kind of trouble I'm in for), but I found this:

Sounds as if this is an explanation about how to resolve the Kernel Panic you are getting.

If everything goes right, then I'll try this this weekend myself - but I'm still on JaS 10.4.6 (...downloading 10.4.8 takes DAYS on my end).

Good luck!
