cjonathan
I've got a P4 3.0 Northwood (SSE2), 1 GB RAM, and GeForce 6800 AGP. OSX86 runs pretty well in general (I get an X-bench score of somewhere in the mid-50's), and QE and CI are working perfectly, but some programs--particularly Aperture, MS Office, and Photoshop--run very poorly. My question then is, is this just the limitations of my CPU and system in general? I've read a lot on these forums about AGPart, but also that it might shut off QE and CI if used. Is there anything else I can try software-wise? If not, would it be worth the money to sell my Northwood and buy a Prescott P4? Or upgrade the RAM? Just want to get these few programs, which I use quite often, working well. Thanks for any help. But they say upgrading from norhrtwood sse2 to a prescott sse3 gives the systeem better performance and compatability Edited January 20, 2007 by wow Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/39259-performance-problems-particularly-with-aperture-agp-sse2/#findComment-280154 Share on other sites
cjonathan
Thanks. I don't think it would be too expensive to upgrade to a Prescott. Anyone had any experience doing this?
