Hi!

I just got the OSx86 running on my new MSI S260 centrino notebook ( white of cause ;-) )

MSI S260

Installation was quite easy:

1. unrar the tiger-x86.tar.bz2 image file.

2. use dd if=/path/to/imagefile of=/dev/sda bs=1M

to write the whole image to my attached usb drive ( All data on the drive will be overwritten!!!!!!!!!!!!)

3. create a new, free primary partition on the internal drive ( 6,4g big ) and set its type to AF using fdisk under linux.

4. use dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/dev/hda2 bs=1M

to write the OSx86 partition from the external usb drive to the new, free partition on the internal drive.

5. add a new boot entry to your favourite bootloader.

for grub:

title= OSx86

rootnoverify (hd0,1)

makeactive

chainloader +1

6. reboot your computer and start OSx86.

Network and Sound worked out of the box, im now working on getting the native resolution of 1280x800 to work, by now only 1024x800 is running.

Thanks to all who made this possible!!

greets from Germany

Hi!

I just got the OSx86 running on my new MSI S260 centrino notebook ( white of cause ;-) )

I have MSI S260 with Windows XP

I want to install OSx86. But the issue S260 can't detect soundcard and wifi.

Can you tell me step-by-step how to install OSx86? and what OSX version is better?

thanks.
