Macfan14
Hi, first off I'd like to introduce my self. All you need to know is my username (for now). Now to the point, I'm trying to install OS X 10.4.8 (JaS DVD) on my new HP dv6105us laptop. The specs are: RAM: 512 (can't be upgraded, i'm low on funds) Processor: AMD Turion 64 (mobile technology) and I don't know the other specs. Anyway, I tried installing OS X on my laptop, the first time it went fast, but the second time, it took so long. I tried again after the system hanged at the curser and light blue screen and the same thing happened again. I'm going to try again with FAT file system instead and see if that works. Thanks to anyone who can help me . Macfan14
ok, since i can't edit my first post, i'll update the information here: The OS X setup loading process is too slow, so something is obviously wrong. I know the DVD isn't messed up since it booted up normally the first time I used it. The BOOTHELP.txt didn't say much about this. What i get after the long load time is a light blue screen with the good old Os X cursor in the top left corner of the screen that doesn't respond to the mouse movements. I really need help on this, a 3 day torrent download is a big waste of time if it doesn't work . My sytem specs are above. EDIT: Oops, sorry, didn't notice the edit button in the forums i'll edit this post from now on. My laptop is the hp dv6105us model. Please will someone help me out? MacOSMatt
tried updating your bios? copy the Jas 10.4.8 to a fresh dvd, write at a low speed.. your queiry is confusing and a little invalid firstly, check the wikipedia part of the X86 project to see if your motherboard and 64bit (im presuming) chip is compatible.. if it went fast the first time, what went wrong?.. where are u up to now?
