bucsboy
I've done a lot of research on osx86, but I still have some unanswered questions: Ok, so I downloaded the JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 iso from demonoid, and I was wondering how to check it it's the correct iso since there's not sfv file or anything to check the 200+ rar files that it is split into. How do I know if my iso is valid? Btw, I did unzip it sucessfully without any errors, does that mean my iso is good? Also, should I apply the vp1 patch, and that other patch made by the_defiant? If anyone cares, this is my computer: http://www.compusa.com/products/product_in...7-_-footer_link It supports SSE2 and SSE3, so I should be able to install OSX. Also, I was wondering, how should I burn my disc, becasue I have been having a lot of problems and made a lot of "coasters". I heard that I should burn it at 1x or something like that, how would I do that and with what? I am willing to do whatever it takes. I'd rather not use vmware if possible, just natively install it with a bootloader like grub. Another question, which bootloader wwould you go with? Grub, Lilo, or something else? Wow, I think that's all. Jeez. Bruce Wang
1. I think your ISO is good. 2. V1 patch should be applied. 3. If you will use Disk Utility for setting partition during installation, Defiant patch needs to be applied to V1 patched ISO. 4. Nero is what I use for burning. Burning speed is adjustable. 5. I use Darwin bootloader, easy and fast. Below is for your reference. _1. Boot with 10.4.7 installation DVD. _2. Use Disk Utility to set 1st partition as HFS and 2nd partition as DOS _3. Quit installation. _4. Boot with XP CD and install to 2nd partition (in fact, it's the only partition XP can see) _5. Complete XP installation. _6. Boot with OS X installation DVD and install to 1st partition. _7. After setting acount and booting into OS X, add below keys to Boot.plist <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> _8. Reboot, darwin boot loader should appear for OS selection.
