peekay_us
I couldn't install to my SATA drive, as OSx86 didn't recognize it, (tried the -f trick) so I installed to a PATA drive instead. My question is, it possible to copy all the files from one drive to the other and then boot up from that drive? Can Disk Utility do something like that? Thanks, Peekay Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38978-pata-to-sata-conversion/ Share on other sites

davidsinclair
just to follow up, if your stuff does not get recognized it is due to the lack of support for sata (cd/dvd drives and hard drives) never tried copying stuff over Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38978-pata-to-sata-conversion/#findComment-278458 Share on other sites
peekay_us
Haven't gotten around to trying this, yet. I'll post when I do. It's strange because my SATA drive is recognized fine once osx is installed, but I just can't install to it.
