I have not tried it in the computer yet as I would like to get some step by step info so that when I put it in I know exactly what to do. I'm sure its been asked before but bare with me I'm new to these hackintosh computers. frizbot Posted January 17, 2007 Share Posted January 17, 2007 (edited) Sorry, I won't do Step-By-Step. I'm impatient. I suggest getting the newest JaS release, and the ppf file that patches it. It's available at the usual places. You may have it already, but still needing the PPF, depending on when you got it. Titan is included. Reinstall with Titan, or find it in the DVD->System->Installation->Packages (IIRC) directory. I recommend reinstalling with any new DVD release instead of mixing packages around. Natit could also work. It didn't work for me on a 6600MMX, and I don't think it worked for me on a 7600GT. Titan works on both for me now. I have one eVGA 5200, but I have the one with DVI. If this card doesn't end up working for you, I strongly recommend upgrading to a new videocard. Best is usually the midrange, and I haven't followed the 8xxx releases. Sorry, but the card you have is {censored} for gaming, and poor for features due to the single VGA out (though passive cooling is a great bonus). I strongly recommend taking that card back, and at least getting the version of it with DVI for ~5$ more (which also is passively cooled), and ideally getting something known to work with OS X. You have AGP, so you can't go with the high end. Don't spend too much upgrading an AGP videocard. Here is an example of a proper card. thebeephaha Posted January 18, 2007 Author Share Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) Thanks for the info, I just decided to stick the card in and see what happens, it worked automatically, no tweaks needed with the version of JaS's 10.4.8 I've got on here. It's not the newest with the PPF patch thing either. Still tho, its only showing up as PCI not AGP. QE/CI do work tho. EDIT: Installed the latest JaS build of 10.4.8 and now the card is 100% functional, AGP even. Can I have the TV out and the VGA out working at the same time, and be displaying seperate screens, like a horizontal span? Thanks!
