trucidare
i think its the sis chipset. there is no driver solutions for booting from it ( i think ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38961-install-problems-on-acer-aspire/#findComment-278657 Share on other sites
yeknup
well, bikerdude880 was/is working on something for that i guess but i dont really understand how it works (yet). learned a lot since i started this. It is indeed the chipset (i think) or the optical drive, in the wiki techincal faq it says it is the optical drive but i see so many problems with the sis chipset so i guess it is that. portableteejay
Hi, i'm trying to install mac os x 10.4.8 (JaS sse2) on my Acer Aspire 5000 laptop but i am having some problems with installing. my pc (i have dutch language on my pc, yes im dutch, so i dont know what everything is in english ): -cpu, Mobile AMD Turion 64 ML-30 (x86, x86-64, MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 -motherboard, SiS M760GX, AMD HAMMER -graf card, SiS Mirage 2 what i did was: -backed up everything!! -split my hard drive in 3 partitions, 1 for my windows xp , 1 mac os x and 1 shared. I was able to get the _tubgirl_ 10.4.10 to install the OS. The keyboard and touchpad don't work though, but I know a usb mouse does, as well as usb drives. I haven't tested a usb keyboard because I have to go get one. I''ve been using the keyboard viewer at the moment "registration" is kinda of annoying though but i jsut used the mouse to copy and paste letters from the state pulldown and numbers from the font window to further myself then make a new account later. One weird thing though, I left my laptop on overnight and then the next morning, the keyboard and touchpad were just working spontaneously. I have no idea wtf that's all about but it gives me hope that i can get that working normally. I still have to get any network adaptor to work as well as the sound. good luck.
