thanx .. but is this common for computer to shut down when sleep activates ? Is this letting me know that sleep doesnt work for me ?

just out of curiosity .. on an actual mac .. when sleep activates, what happens to the computer ? like hard disk is off , screen off ?

yes, its like the machine is off, except there's usually a slowly pulsing light to indicate sleep.

when your machine is 'off' in this state, what happens if you click the mouse button or hit a key?

for reference, if i Sleep my machine, the disks spin down, the screen powers off, and the machine appears to be totally off. when i hit a mousebutton, key or the powerbutton, it wakes back up, disks spin back up etc. my problem is that the screen never wakes - no amount of cajoling can get a display to reappear, sadly.

when your machine is 'off' in this state, what happens if you click the mouse button or hit a key?

well .. i cant "ON" the PC with the mouse or keyboard .. the only solution is to push the power on button .. and it will restart the computer all over again ..

the thing is .. the power LED on my case keeps BLINKING slowly ... when it should be OFF ..!!!

Munky , i have one question .. this is off topic .. i downloaded and installed the latest JAS osx .. without patching the ISO with the ppf .. i would like to know what good does it do to the system had i patched the ISO file with the ppf ..

Should i install the latest semthex kernel ? or is it already included with the latest JAS ..

very confused !! - coz someone told me i should now upgrade my kernel to the latest semthex (from semthex website) - should i ? is this a must do ?

cheers !!
