ECS Extreme KV2 Mobo + Athlon 64 3800+

Anyone have any experience with this 939 socket setup? I have a spare box laying around with this mobo/cpu and wondering if its worth the time to get tiger on it and if i'll need any special drivers. I think the processor is SSE2.

it would be great if the gigabit ethernet and sata controllers worked without problems.. anyone know? which iso would be best for me? would this system be comparable to say a 2.0ghz G5?
