Uncle_Ho Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 Everytime i boot up my mac i get this strange error : (look at the pic) it happens everytime .. whether i have the disc in the disc drive or not .. very strange .. One more thing , how do i get a log on prompt when i boot into mac like i get when i log on into XP ? Cheers !! " initialize" "ignore" "eject" ... imo...if eject is given it should be optical drive ? what do you think? (i think) do you by any chance have a windows partition connected which is a 'Dynamic Disk' ? if so, OS X wont be able to read it, and will give you this error each time you boot. Uncle_Ho Posted January 15, 2007 Author Share Posted January 15, 2007 I have only one Seagate 250 gig SATAII drive ... divided into two partitions .. first one is for OSX (50 GIG) .. the other is a free space - intended for XP and backup i used DISK UTILITY .. when installing osx to partition the drive .. OSX is a whole new world is grasp !! if it was xp .. just double click .exe file to install driver .. for mac i am in a total strange land here .. experts please ... i am such a noob when it comes to mac .. and i am an MCSE in windows 2003 .. CoolBits Posted January 15, 2007 Share Posted January 15, 2007 To install any kext use this: - Put YOUR.kext in your /System/Library/Extensions/ folder - Correct the file premissions: sudo chown -R root:wheel YOUR.kext ; sudo chmod -R 755 YOUR.kext - Remove the cached and packed extensions: sudo rm -f /System/Library/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache - reboot. Eject for hard drives means - software unplug and put hard disk to sleep mode i had same emssages before i create hfs partition on my second hard drive.
