Im not sure what is causing my problem exactly. The boot stalls at the blue screen after the grey screen with the Apple logo. Its like what used to happen when i didnt have a VGA dongle attatched to the back of my laptop, but Im using the wire trick and it has stopped working. This has literally happened overnight, since last night I shut the computer off (OS X was working flawlessly then) and when I went to turn my computer back on this morning, I encountered this problem. I tried connecting an external monitor, to see if the wires Im using were the problem, and that didnt work either.

I have tried booting up the install DVD, and I encounter the same problem. Im thinking something happened to my VGA port, but I dont have time to open up the computer to diagnose.

my specs

Dell Inspiron 2200

JaS 10.4.7

Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz

Most everything working before this problem occurred (wireless, sound, ethernet, QE/CI etc.)

Hmm, I figured noone else had had this sort of problem because nothing appeared when I searched. JaS' 10.4.8 install DVD is downloading right now, so Im going to try that. if that doesnt work, I might have to totally lose my OS X partition and try to reinstall fresh. again.
