buymeapc
I have a bootable DVD and I can easily boot off it and it sees to start installing x86, but then shuts off. Is it possible that my video card could be the problem? P4 1.6 Intel 815G Motherboard ATI 8500LE WD 30GB
macgirl
Do you mean Intel 915G? ATI card has problems with Mac OS X, so is better tu take it off (if you have Onboard Vid Card of course), Install, reboot, remove ATI kexts, shutdown, put back your ATI card, boot. If you have an Integrated Video Card it should be better for Mac OS X than the ATI becuase the integrated is fully supported.
buymeapc
Sorry, I meant 865. I don't have onboard video, so ATI is the only way to go for me.
macgirl
ATI cards as Nvidia cards works in Vesa 3 (some ATI Vesa 2) only. Also you need to remove ATI extensions to boot properly.
