lilstewart Posted January 14, 2007 Share Posted January 14, 2007 Hey Guys- I've been on the Mac since the Quadra's, and right now I have an iMac G5 & MacBook Core Duo. I have a PC that is just laying around and I want it to get some good use! I have an AMD Athlon XP 3200+, SSE - this processor will not work, obviously, it needs SSE2, preferably SSE3. Which AMD Processor has this, and which has the least amount of problems? (preferably none!) I have an NVidia 5500 128MB 8x card - will this card work with OS X? Where can I get the latest version of OS X for x86? I know it's not allowed to say where it is, but a general area of where to look? I have 2 HD's. One is 200GB, one is 80GB. I want to have OS X on the 200GB and have a Windows installation on the 80GB. You don't need to tell me how, as I can ask that in the appropriate forum, I just want to know if it's possible. I have actually 2 graphics cards in here... the one mentioned above and a ATi 9250 256MB PCI card. Can I use both? Dual displays? I also have 2 DVD burners. ONe is unknown (I'd have to take it out..) and one is a "hp dvd writer dvd400i" - the first one is DL 8x and the other one is just 8x. I also have a memory card reader. Chances this will work? High / Low? How about audio? I seem to just have normal audio in the back (3 ports, in, out, and mic.) I haven't a clue what the motherboard is - how do I find that out, it's gold, that's all I know. How do I figure out the processor's socket? I don't know that either. Sorry for a million questions - and sorry if it's been asked before. Let me know if you can help me out!
