Dr.Jobo
Every time i boot with my mac os x install dvd, the install script crashes. I could use all the utilities but, dont do the installation itself. I prepared my hard disk by using the disk tool and everything was fine. But on reboot the install script crashed again. Everytime i get the same error message. The error log show this: Error parsing distribution script: System/Installation/Packages/OSInstal.mpkg/Contents/OSInstall.dist xmllint: /bin/sh line 1: /usr/bin/xmllint: no such file or directory\n Child exitet with status 13 I have no idea now, plz can anyone help me, or give me a hint. Thx a lot! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38576-install-script-problem/ Share on other sites

debauchery1st
I get the same error. even on vmware installation. JaS 10.4.8 AMD+Intel SSE2,SSE3 DVD Here are some screenshots of mine: Initial Error Box. After Hitting "View Log" and changing to "Show Everything". note: these screenshots were taken during a vmware installation as it doesnt' seem to matter whether native or not... the same error screen ensues. The only topic I've seen regarding this error says to reburn it, and the reburn never seems to work for me. (same error). And once I enter diskutility, no HDs are detected (even in vmware install). Could this possibly be a patch problem? hp pavillion dv6119 nforce/SATA HD nvidia Geforce go 6150 Edited January 16, 2007 by debauchery1st Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38576-install-script-problem/#findComment-277521 Share on other sites
debauchery1st
Just installed the same exact DVD to a usb external HD without any problems. The error must have something to do with HD detection. I know my notebook has nforce/SATA based HD internally... this sounds literally like a missing driver on the installation DVD.
