global_dev
I have been keeping a backup of my "ideal" osx partition, in case the mess up the first using SuperDuper. I tried to use Callisto x300c008 to add resolutions, rebooted into a blank screen, not black, but no actual signal. I then booted into my backup partition and restored the backup and made it bootable via SuperDuper. That was the final time i could bootup without having the install disk in the optcal drive. My symptom is a black screen with blinking _ cursor. I tried single user mode to fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 to flag the 1st partition active, update, write, exit, reboot to no avail. There is a partition structure I can see. ---------------------------------------------- What can I do to get back to booting off HDD instead of optical? Can I burn a copy of the partition (not disk) via diskutility, reinstall and restore or will the MBR be restored as well? global_dev
As far as I can tell, I maintained my backup - restored using a sparse image after reinstalling . However, it looks like there still may be a MBR issue... fdisking -e like it was my job.
