sm92
Just as a general question what significant improvements or any improvements have been made in the 10.4.8 version over other versions of OSX86. How much more hardware support is there compared to the previous versions? Does it require patching during the installation? And does it fully support Intel GMA 900 without the blue screen crash at startup? Any help would be appriciated :censored2: Thankyou Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38500-osx86-1048-improvements/ Share on other sites
thestevo
First, just to qualify my remarks... when I talk of 10.4.8, I am referring to 10.4.8 with the Semthex kernel - as I assume you may have been also. 10.4.8 has significantly improved hardware support. If not directly - by simply the (hacked) updates provided by Apple - then indirectly by the increased ease of 'third party' drivers. Examples of this indirect improved hardware support would be Natit, Titan, AppleHDA, etc... And, the only patching that is required during the installation is that which is needed for your hardware. There is no magic bullet disc that requires no patching for ALL hardware. Maybe you'll get lucky, maybe not. As for the Intel GMA 900, I believe that the new JaS install DVD (SSE2+3) has an optional package during installation to support it. edmoncu
apparently, for me, the new jas 10.4.8 amd/intel dvd (patched) only brings me up after the gray apple logo and gets stuck at the blue screen... :pirate2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38500-osx86-1048-improvements/#findComment-275600 Share on other sites

I had the same problem i used jas 10.4.8 amd/intel without "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSe2.SSe3.v1p.ppf" patch after my install it worked couple of times and then it started to get stuck the blue screen (i only got 1024x768). I did clean intall with "JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSe2.SSe3.v1p.ppf" patch don't forget to choose intel 9?? drivers during install. I even got 1680x1050. decaturguy
What do you mean by Intel 9? When you do custom install there is an option where you can install Intel 900 or 940 drivers. I personally Chose both.
