PCvsMac
I have already tried the deadmoo method about 3 or 4 times and now Im attempting the DVD method (Dualboot) due to problems with deadmoo. I have already burned a working DVD and partitioned my HD now I have reached the point where I must modify the C:\boot.ini., and this is the point where I got lost. Can anyone give me a second of there time to explain how this is done (layman's terms)? Also, I have downloaded windows UBCD and in my directions it tells me to make a CD from .iso, I may need a little help with this as well... Thanx to everyone for making this such an informative board....... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/3844-cbootini/ Share on other sites
macgirl
Ok, copy chain0 from the DVD to your C:\ Then edit your boot.ini an add a line that could be like this: C:\chain0="Whatever you want to appear in the boot menu" save the boot.ini and reboot. Ahm, it actually works now, cheers macgirl!! i put the chain0 on the laptop via remote desktop by mistake, placed it back on the server (via remote desktop) and hey presto, it gives me the xp boot ini thing. Only problem is, it THEN gives me some ugly looking darwin boot screen thing, giving me more choices, even asks me if i want to boot from my data drives...damn!! where is the OSx boot ini equivalent?? does it even have this fuction? I hear the word 'grub' mentioned, but i'm sure i've never selected it.
