gXpratama
Hi all.. I've just installed my Travelmate 4222 (Intel Core Duo 1,66 GHz, GMA 950, ALC883) with the latest release of JaS 10.4.8 AMD/Intel SSE2/3 (Semthex's kernel). I patched the iso using the latest ppf. Just now, i update to the latest Semthex kernel (10 Jan 07). The result is my laptop become very slow seconds after login. System Profiler reported that QE/CI is supported. I managed to get sound after applied a patch using ALC883Audio.mpkg, very bad and choppy that is. Strange thing is, the sound and the video become less choppy/slow if I do something related to graphic, for example changing wallpaper or moving my mouse randomly over the launcher. Because of my curiousity, I tried to play a video with mplayer (fullscreen). It still so slow and the audio choppy, then I open 2 (1 isn't enough) terminal (transparent) and do some continous activity (I ping some servers) over the video. Magic thing happens, the video, sounds and mouse movement become normal! If I close one of the terminal, the bad symptoms happened again. Does anyone here have an idea how to solve the problem? Thanks in advance! Update: It turns out the culprit is related to Dual Core thing.. Even though I have updated to the latest kernel, doesn't seem to solve the problem. I manually add "cpus=1" to the boot.plist and now everything working great! GMA 950 with QE/CI, ALC883 with stereo out and mic input/line in, USB 2.0, even my bluetooth dongle works perfect! Thank you so much for JaS, Semthex, Rammjet and countless others..
