I downloaded "tiger-x86.tar.bz2" because it is the smallest OSx86 i could find. Of the numerous guides around, i decided to follow this one, probably because it's real short. It says to use a Knoppix Live CD, i have a Whoppix v2.7 Live CD, will this work? Apparently, this guide assumes that the user wants to install OS X on the primary hard drive. However, this is NOT the case for me. I wanna install it on my second hard drive, so what is the correct DD command i need to use? Right now, C: is my primary drive, D: is my DVD writer, E: is the ONLY partition on my primary drive, and F: is my second drive. Also, i can't find a link to download Chain0, i've tried several, ALL of them seem dead. Don't I need this to make a dual-boot?

Thanks.

Well, i finally got to boot Mac OS 10.4.1 Tiger. Now, my DVD burner is NOT detected/working. also, i have NO sound. My DVD burner is HP DVD Writer 840x. The manual for my Dell Dimension 3100/E310 says the sound card is on the motherboard and is "HDA2" type. I believe it is made by Sigmatel.

Still NO sound here (not to mention the DVD burner). DXdiag reports this about the sound card: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7690&SUBSYS_102801C4&REV_1022. So, the Device ID=8384, and the Vendor ID=7690, right? How do i find the model# of sound card from this? Is this sound card supported? Do i need to update the OS? Or do i just need to install a driver?
