Rammjet
What packages did you choose in the Customize window during installation? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38211-boot-up-problem-help/#findComment-272756 Share on other sites
hackpack
Only the three items about intel,sse2 and sse3. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38211-boot-up-problem-help/#findComment-272760 Share on other sites
Rammjet
Choose only Intel Combo update and Intel SSE3. Choose other packages only if you are sure your computer can use them. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=4499 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38211-boot-up-problem-help/#findComment-272786 Share on other sites
hackpack
I have tried to only select the sse3, but still can't boot up at normal mode. The details about my motherboard: Intel 865PE Intel ICH5 DDR PCI AGP 8x DMA66/100 Serial ATA/150 USB 2.0 AC97 Could you tell me which package I should select? Rammjet
As I said above, the 2 packages: Intel Combo update and Intel SSE3 should be the ones you want for your computer. You must choose the Combo update in order to get 10.4.7. Otherwise, you are only installing 10.4.4. And since you said your computer is a Celeron D, it should be capable of SSE3. The only other suggestion might be to try to boot with "cpus=1" since some people have problems with dual core. Rammjet
Instead of typing "-x" to start in safe mode, type "cpus=1" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38211-boot-up-problem-help/#findComment-272829 Share on other sites
