mahen
Hi everyone, I installed the Tubgirl final 10.4.8 version of OSX, under the following hardware : ASUS A8V-E SE MB (VIA K8T890) Geforce 6600 Leadtek PX6600 PCI-E Athlon 64 3200+ venice core SATA 1 HD I managed to get absolutely EVERYTHING to work. Even the TV output thanks to Natit dual 0.2. Network, sound, 3D... However... I soon discovered I got data corruption when copying files from my ATA HD (ext3 partitions thanks to ext2fs) to my SATA HD on which OSX was installed. I also got some strange corrupt files downloaded from the internet to the SATA HD, even on the main HFS+ partition. To sum a bit the situation up, using md5sum to check files : - copy of big files from internal ata ext3 hd to internal sata hfs+ hd : ALL files corrupt - copy of big files from hfs+ sata internal hd to itself : no file corrupt it seems - copy of big files from ata external ext3 hd to internal sata hfs+ hd : some files corrupt like 15% - downloading files to sata hfs+ hd : some files corrupt like 15% - downloading files to ata hfs+ hd : no corrupt files noticed All corruptions noticed occured when writing to the SATA HD, on the HFS+ partition. ... Needless to say, I cannot really trust my system Does anyone have an idea what I could do, by any chance ? cheers and thanks for reading Edited January 9, 2007 by mahen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38169-serious-data-corruption/ Share on other sites
