MacOSMatt Posted January 9, 2007 Share Posted January 9, 2007 Hi guys, im on my soon to be mac and im wondering what graphics card to get. i want something that will run core graphics, and play mediocre games (rise of nations etc) whats a good graphics card? under the price range of $250 aud ~ off trademe.co.nz preferably NVIDIA or ATI? i just dunno what to get? any help appreciated =) Running so far:, with compatible network and sound cards. gotoh Posted January 9, 2007 Share Posted January 9, 2007 I think GeForce 7800GTX 256Mb would be perfect if you can find one. Or even a GeForce 7800GT. 7900GS 256Mb should also work. Even 7600GT gives nice FPS in modern games and would be much cheaper. These NVIDIA cards should work fine with 10.4.8 8.8.1 kernel and titan or natit kexts. you should consider getting more ram too. 512Mb is the very minimum for Tiger. 1Gb will give you a much smoother overall feeling.
