Well, i've read around about the hardware accepted by OSX as of the momment, the current hacks and etc... as far as i've read, my hardware should be compatible with OSX, thats why i started to download a few Isos to try it... first of them...

JaS 10.4.7, starts with the Apple Logo with the Loader Spinning, everything well, disk utilitie gets my HD, i format the partition i want, everything goes smooth, until i forget to customize packs so it freezes up installing iTunes...

Keyboard wasnt working at the installation

The next go just freezed up when erasing the disc partition in Journaled OSX and in every other one too..., altought, if i reseted and began the installation again, it showed up like it was formatted...

Next one...

JaS 10.4.8

This time (and since the second-third-fourth try on 10.4.7) i wasnt getting the Apple Logo with the Loader Spinning, but instead i just got the lines of code loading...

Same luck as above, except i couldnt format the disk again, same happened when reseted...

Keyboard wasnt working at the installation

Tubgirls 10.4.8

Same as JaS's..., but this time i couldnt get it to detect my partitions, where JaS did...

Keyboard wasnt tested...

On the 3 versions of OSX, it freezes up installing, it copies everything to the disk, and starts installing, installs a few things and freezes up at the first pack...

My hardware its:

Sempron 2800+ Venice Core (SSE, SSE2, SSE3)

Epox 8NPA7i (nForce 4x (same as nForce4 variants, just with a few cuts, Sata 2 and SLi are disabled on this chip)

1024mb Corsair DDR400

Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse...

Did i really miss something while searching?

Any help its greatly appreciated...

EDIT: Forgot to add, 10.4.7 installs flawlessly trough VMWare...

I'm having the same problems as us and after a few days spent on reading the forums i finally think i know why this is happening.

nForce4 with a SATA drive *isn't* compatible with OSX. They do run with the drivers that come with all 3 images you downloaded, but at some point the whole system will freeze and the only thing left working will be the keyboard and mouse interrupts, which of course won't do a thing. This happens not only when installing OSX, but even after you did that if you are working with a SATA drive. There are ppl that installed OSX on nForce4 motherboards with SATA which after trying to mount and repartition a SATA drive get a system freeze.

For now the only thing you can do is try to disable the SATA from BIOS and install OSX on a PATA drive. That should probably work. I don't have a PATA drive myself at this time, so i haven't tested that. You can also try to remove or disable the SATA drivers after installing OSX, so you don't have to disable it trough BIOS and your regular Windows will still be there if you want to boot in it.
