I have done a fresh install of JaS OS X 10.4.8 and my d-link dwl-g650, that was working with 10.4.7, no longer worked. I figured out that it has to do with my Texas Instrument PC Card bus Not being detected properly. I then noticed that the IOPCCardFamily.kext extension was missing from /System/Library/Extensions. I looked around the installation dvd and found the extension in the Essentials.pkg file. I opened this file with Pacifist and tried to extract IOPCCardFamily.kext but it failed with this error:

The file "/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TempraryItems/Pacifist Temp/Essentials Folder/./System/Library/Extensions/IOPCCardFamily.kext" does not exist.

I copied the file to the harddisk and tried again but got the same results. I've also tried extracting this directly from the ISO and I still get the same error.

What I want to know is this happening to anyone else? Is it just a bad download? (I got it from demonoid)

If anyone has IOPCCardFamily.kext from 10.4.8 (Intel SSE2), could they post it here for me?
