TrendKill
I have done a fresh install of JaS OS X 10.4.8 and my d-link dwl-g650, that was working with 10.4.7, no longer worked. I figured out that it has to do with my Texas Instrument PC Card bus Not being detected properly. I then noticed that the IOPCCardFamily.kext extension was missing from /System/Library/Extensions. I looked around the installation dvd and found the extension in the Essentials.pkg file. I opened this file with Pacifist and tried to extract IOPCCardFamily.kext but it failed with this error: The file "/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TempraryItems/Pacifist Temp/Essentials Folder/./System/Library/Extensions/IOPCCardFamily.kext" does not exist. I copied the file to the harddisk and tried again but got the same results. I've also tried extracting this directly from the ISO and I still get the same error. What I want to know is this happening to anyone else? Is it just a bad download? (I got it from demonoid) If anyone has IOPCCardFamily.kext from 10.4.8 (Intel SSE2), could they post it here for me? TrendKill
How did you manage to get it recognized? I followed another post on this site explaining how to "hack" the Info.plist file and hex editing the binary driver but that didn't work for me. RipZone
Try searching for ppf on the demon. JaS released a patch as the first release didn't come with all the networking kexts.
