Hi,

I'm using JaS's 10.4.8 Intel Only SSE3 install DVD. When I boot from the DVD, I see the Darwin bootloader. It prompts me to press enter to boot, type -v, and so on. When I press enter my system restarts after a couple seconds.

A few months back I was able to install OS X through the WMWare method, so I know my system in compatible.

I'm sure this has been an issue before, but I wasn't able to find any information.

Anyone?

I had not even reached the installation. It began to boot into the installer (In -v mode I saw a few lines that read Loading *something or other*...), then it just stopped and restarted.

Anyways, my system specs are as follows...

Dell Dimension 4300

Intel Pentium 4 1.70 GHz

512 MB Ram

nVidia GeForce2 MX 400

Creative Sound Blaster Live!

40 GB ATA hard drive for OS's

250 GB ATA hard drive for media

CNet Pro200WL Ethernet Adapter

I installed Uphuck v1.4i 10.4.9 r3.

checking on the installation only the kernel, the Calisto 008, and after a kernel panic, the removeapplesupendmode.

It all works perfectly. Except for the sound and the ethernet card which have not been recognised.

i am working on it.
