seanbperiod
I was wondering if the AppleTime.exe included with bootcamp will work with Hackintosh installs? I have the file on my windows desktop, and it doesn't seem to do anything after i run it.. Prawker
Bootcamp does not work with Hackintosh because we lack EFI, and obviously, exe Files do not work with OS X Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37692-appletimeexe-with-hackintosh-can-it-work/#findComment-275411 Share on other sites
seanbperiod
i don't think you understand what appletime.exe is or what i'm asking.. bootcamp installs files such as appletime.exe onto the xp filesystem. appletime.exe changes the XP time, to match the time set in OSX. XP sets the time to local time, and apple uses UTC. I never asked to run appletime.exe in OSX. Since I believe that setting the time should have nothing to do with EFI, I wanted to know how (if possible) I can get AppleTime.exe to change the time in Windows, so that the time would be the same in both operating systems. kinwah.lai
i think u can give it a try if u got the AppleTime.exe, put it as startup item in windows. i try to put a registry entry and its works for me (windows 2000) RealTimeIsUniversal = 1 to ask windows to store time in GMT/UTC in the cmos.
