Guestwho
I just finished installing 10.4.8 (from the newest DVD) and I've run into a problem. The installation ends successfully, however, on boot up it gets to the white screen with an apple logo, loads for about 30 seconds, and then prompts me to reboot the system. I was previously running 10.4.6, but decided to reformat the hard disk and start over using the new DVD. My system specs are as follows: Intel P4 1500mhz (SSE2) Abit TH7-11 RAID (i850 chipset) Nvidia GeForce 3 (AGP) 3com 3C900B Ethernet Card Linksys WMP45g (unsure on version, but works with RT61 driver) Lucent firewire PCI card 512mb RAMBUS 20gig hard drive When booting with -v, it seems to hang at this line: localhost mDNSResponder : Adding browse domain local. coolsax98
Did you use the loginwindow.app from 10.4.4 that was included in the setup for intel(I'm assuming you mean the newest JaS DVD)? That may be your problem. When it's locking up, does it look like it tries to load the loginwindow.app before stalling? Hope this helps. Guestwho
Tried installing without the 10.4.4 login window, it didn't seem to make an improvement though.
