First off, I'm running the 10.4.8 SSE3 AMD TEST 1 installation, and with my A8N-SLi board, the sound works, and one of the onboard NIC's work, so I can't complain about that. Except I have been completely unsuccesful getting either my Connect3D X800 GTO or eVGA 7800GT PCIe cards to work in the hackintosh.

For the X800 I've tried every Callisto driver build I found, all of which either prevented the system from booting into aqua, or gave a completely scrambled display once the GUI loaded.

So I looked in the wiki and saw that the 7800GT is suppose to be fully working. So I copied over my backed up extensions directory (made fresh after the OS installation) and snagged a copy of titan.kext. The directions that I found said to add my deviceID into the GeForce.kext, titan.kext, NVDARESMAN.KEXT, and NVDANV##Hal.kext. However when I go into my /System/Library/Extensions/ directory I find that the last two, the NVDA* kext's are nowhere to be found! I also couldn't locate them on the 10.4.8 install DVD, but I might have missed them there.

I originally installed 10.4.8 with the X800GTO in the machine, if I am going to replace it with the 7800GT do I need to do a fresh install for the graphics card to work properly? It would be quite nice to have QE/CI and openGL.

And aside from all that, can someone reccomend a graphics card that will work with QE/CI and OpenGL? Just something simple to drop into the PCIe slot and be happy with!?!?!

Thanks all!

Is your 7800 a 512, if so you're {censored} otta luck.

If its a 256, install Titan or Natit and put your dev ids in the appropriate kexts before the switch and you should have no problems.

You do not put any ids in the titan.kext :gun:

The missing kexts are in Extensions Disabled folder :)

You just made my night joe! Can't thank you enough! QE/CI and OpenGL works like a charm!

Guess P5W DH Core 2 E6700 windows machine is getting stuck with the slower X800 graphics card now. Maybe I'll get around to loading OSx86 onto it soon also.

For OS X

Asus A8N-SLi

AMD 3200+ @ 2.5Ghz

2gb DDR400 2-2-2-5

LiteON DVD Burner

eVGA 7800GT

and a slow ass PATA UDMA 100 HDD

had I known the SATA was going to work with 10.4.8 I would have used an SATA drive, oh well.
