Hello all !

I want to share my experience trying osx with my SONY VAIO SZ280P/C

I'have installed 10.4.6 from scratch, using a second primary partition. ( 15 gb )

I've followed steps from http://www.nedprod.com/Niall_stuff/MacOS%20X/

My SONY VAIO SZ280P/C has:

nvidia geforce go 7400 Vendor:(0x10de)Device ID:0x01d8

sigmatel hda 9225 VENDOR 8384 / DEV 7661

marvell yukon 88e8036 pci-e fast ethernet controller vendor11ABDevice4351

wifi (not working)

So far, my nvidia has not been recognized by osx, i'm using 1024x800 instead 1200x800 wich is my native resolution.

System has booted up at the first try.

I've been reading a lot for getting my nvidia card to work properly, mostly because i want full display, right now i'm loosing a couple of pixels. I still need some more reading about it.

I hope this post help other guys with sony vaio sz280p/c to give x86 a try.

Best regards !

zuperman !

On my Sony sz3xp/c I've installed the MacVidia drivers and the nvidia card works. Then just change the resolution to 1200x800. This works with 10.4.7.

I just did that and it worked !!!

macvidia drivers version 1.0.8 manual install, reboot and that's it.

I'm using os x 10.4.6

Things that are working:

touchpad Ootb

usb Ootb

cordless optical mouse logitech via usb, Ootb

Regards!
