evangeline.eleanor
Hey you guys. I need some help. I downloaded unpatched version of MAC OSX 10.4.8 and I want to patch it now. The problem is when I downloaded patch it didn't contain and ppf file. This is what I've downloaded: read the rules: no torrent links MAC OSX: Apps 9w Mac 10.4.8 4.38 GB 7 34 PATCH: Unclassified 10.8w JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 Intel 148.64 MB 13 5 I'm beginning to think this isn't the right patch. What am I missing? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37218-patchx86-for-tiger-1048/ Share on other sites

What am I missing? You've downloaded the wrong os x image. First off run CPU-Z in windows to determine what instructions your processor has (SSE2 and/or SSE3). Then download a cracked version of os x (I recommend JaS 10.4.8 if you're lucky enough to have SSE3) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37218-patchx86-for-tiger-1048/#findComment-264772 Share on other sites

CyBrian
that image is the powerpc image, though. it won't install on any pc and there's nothing to fix it short of downloading another image instead. sorry. just download a 10.4.8 sse2 image and install that. it'll be much easier that way Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37218-patchx86-for-tiger-1048/#findComment-264777 Share on other sites
evangeline.eleanor
So, I must download this: Apps 8.2w JaS.10.4.8.SSE3.Intel.Only.iso 4.38 GB 115 426 and a patch for sse2: Unclassified 10.8w JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 Intel 148.64 MB 13 5 And that should be it? Do I have to add some other patches? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37218-patchx86-for-tiger-1048/#findComment-264780 Share on other sites
MacRetail
You should download a hacked 10.4.6 or 10.4.7 DVD with SSE2 patch included (there are DVD's with both SSE3 and SSE2 patches), and later update to 10.4.8. There aren't 10.4.8 DVD's for SSE2 yet, because 10.4.8 isn't 100% stable yet. The "JaS 10.4.7 ISO Repack" is an example of a DVD you could download. Rammjet
The JaS 10.4.7 repack is a patched iso for installation of OSX on PC's. Burn the iso to a DVD and boot it. Go to the Utilities menu, select Disk Utility and format (erase) your target partition as MacOS Extended Journaled. Quit Disk Utility and proceed with the installation. Right before clicking the Install button, click the Customize button and choose packages for your computer configuration. Click the little arrows to reveal the individual packages to be selected. That is the process in a nutshell. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37218-patchx86-for-tiger-1048/#findComment-264795 Share on other sites

Rammjet
The torrent you linked appears to be fine. However, please take down the link because it is against board policy to link to torrents. MacRetail
I downloaded the 2.9Gb version for my PC. (Intel SSE2 here) Before you install MacOS, you have to click 'Customize.' You should select the following patches: - Jas Intel 10.4.7 Combo Update - Intel SSE2 - perhaps Intel 900M Video support for your Graphics card Remember, you can always apply patches later, after the installation. You first have to know what works and what doesn't.
