Matthew-N
I saw many people having problem with native install or booting MAC OS X in native mode, mostly I think is HP and Compaq computer. But when they install or boot in VMware it works! What I know, is that the BIOS setting in VMware and the BIOS setting in your computer is different. So maybe the cause of this problem is the "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface" in the BIOS setting. Maybe VMware support the ACPI version that the OSX86 have. Check out this picture: The kext extensions that I marked red is mostly incomplete, or incompatible if you cannot install or boot in native mode. Hope it have a solution soon. Matthew-N
Some people say disable ACPI can make OSX86 work. Here is an instruction of how to disable ACPI in Windows XP. The following procedure will install the standard PC, without needing a new fresh installation: 1. Open Device Manager. Click the + sign under Computer. Right click "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" or "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC" (i.e. whatever was installed there). Select "Update Driver". 2. Select "Install from a list of Specific Location (Advanced)". Click Next. 3. Select "Don't Search. I will choose a driver to install" option. Click Next. 4. A list of options will be presented. 5. Select "Standard PC", click Next, Restart PC. The PC will take a fair wack of time reinstalling all your hardware drivers and then it will request another restart so restart. Apparantly once this change has been made you can not switch back to ACPI.
