eXKR
Hello, I have the GA-K8NSC-939 motherboard with ALC850 sound. The Mac installation (10.4.8, 8.8.1 kernel, by Tubgirl) recognizes something, I mean, I have the sound volume slider and I can setup "Line out AC97 Audio (PCM)" on system preferences. Everything seems to be ok but when I try it with iTunes or VLC I can't hear anything. I have tryed the 3 outputs I have (supposed line out, mic and line in) and still have no sound. I have tryed the id renaming with AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext and it happens nothing. Any idea? Thanks in advance. =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37069-alc850-and-ga-k8nsc-939/ Share on other sites

Nickhamm
Ressurecting because I have the same problem. I just got this board and a AMD64 3400+ Venice Core OEM Processor from NewEgg and everything is working great (requiring minor hacking ot get my nVidia GeForce FX 5200 running with Quartz and CI). My problem is sound. I get line in and out and tried all jacks and get nothing. In Windows, the speaker out jack doens't work for some reson using th eincluded drivers but using Jack Sensing I can get it to output sound on Line In. The sound is very tinny with lot sof treble and little or no bass, but its sound. If nayone has any ideas, let me know.
