angus.myers Posted December 26, 2006 Share Posted December 26, 2006 hey there im very new here (but not to mac's) I have got the 10.4.7 jas disk and everytime i put it in and boot from darwin i just get a greyed out screen (mac) telling me to resart my computer. with a load of stuff in the background. Can someone please help me im DESPERATE. any help would be much appreciated. angus.myers Posted December 26, 2006 Author Share Posted December 26, 2006 sure sorry: ( i only kow what is on the front of the box, and what upgrades i have done) P4 2.8GHz 768MB RAM 160 GB HDD (65GB partitioned for mac) ATI Radeon 9250 Graphics card (although the PC does have an intergrated Intel Extreme Grapchics card with 64Mb shared) Anything else?!? Set your BIOS to boot from DVD Rom, put in your DVD, after selecting your language, go up to the Apple menu > Utilities > Disk Utility > Select your HDD > Erase it > Command-Q > back to the installation > follow the Installer Hope that helps... angus.myers Posted December 26, 2006 Author Share Posted December 26, 2006 i cant get that far! i put the disk in and boot from it i press enter when prompted (by darwin) then i get the message. it just says to restart your pc with a big power button logo in the background. also there is a load of text and the last line reads (i cant see the begining of the line - resolution problem) kernel version 8.4.1: tue jan 3 18:23:53 PST 2006; root:xnu-792.2.90.obj§-1/release_i386 there is also the mention of the word panic somewhere above that please help me i NEED MAC on my HP.
