legg1
So, ive been fidling for a couple days now, trying all kinds of combinations, reinstalling probably 30+ times due to messing my system up that bad it wasnt recoverable again :S (yeah i know, im awesome ) So, finally i got a nice too easy friendly install. Current system in my signature. What im still missing, are the home/end keys on my Micro{censored} Media Pro Keyboard, and Mousebutton 4+5 on my logitech MX510. Anyone got a solution to this ? So, if u have problems, this is how i did it: First off you need some files and dvds (yes, 2dvds). 1. Prasys awesome idiot and bulletproof kernel updater. found in this thread (id like to hug you irl btw:P) 2. Modbins very very easy to use installer script for * Radeon x1650Pro AGP * cards, found in this thread 3. JaS 10.4.6 Intel/AMD DVD Install Release. (it got jas packages, but no edited "enjoy this"-ula tho. 4. JaS 10.4.8 Intel ONLY Re-seed DVD Install release (found only on demonoid.com, others are fake/corrupted). Thanks jas, the community owes you a big heap of juice. 5. Pacifist for Mac (newest = v2.01 or so) ** You can skip the 10.4.6 Intel/AMD DVD Install Release: If you get a friendly person to send you the 10.4.6.see2.intel.pkg file from /System/Install/Library/Packages (or something along those lines). Ok now you are ready. Step1: Install a fresh 10.4.8 on a partition or drive. Step2: Run Prasys "scriptv3.command" and let it update your kernel. you need to press password and 2-3 keys, so dont bugger off expecting it to be 100% automatic Step3: Install Pacifist. Step4: Mount up 10.4.6 DVD. ** Disregard this step if you have the 10.4.6.sse2/3.intel.pkg file Step5: Open Pacifist - Open package 10.4.6.sse2/3.intel.pkg Find Realtek kext under /System/Library/Extensions - Right click, Install to default/normal location. Close pacifist. Step6: Reboot, enjoy your working onboard Realtek 8139 nic. Step7: Double click the x1650agp.pkg file, let it install and reboot. Thats it, you system is now working with intigrated lan, 1048 and 8.8.1 semthex (newest) kernel, x1660pro and Quartz Extreme and Core image ------ Oh and xBench results: OpenGL Spinning Squares: 135FPS User Interface Elements: 284FPS Quartz Graphics test Line: 41.37 Rectangle 38.10 Circle: 38.48 Bezier: 73.73 Text: 68.16 Overall 71.86 Edited December 24, 2006 by legg1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36705-x1650pro-agp-1048-intigrated-nic-working-smooth/ Share on other sites
