stevetheman
First off, for your information, my motherboard is a GA-M55plus-S3G After installing 10.4.7 I am at about 80% working. 1. The onboard video (Geforce 6100) does not seem to be recognized (only 1024x768 available) 2. The onboard lan is not recognized 3. The onboard sound card is not recognized 4. Restart the machine does not actually restart it, it just goes and sits at MACH reboot What can I do to try and fix these problems? goodfellaz
Check the wiki to see if your hardware is supported - then gather the Device and Vendor IDs for your hardware. Search the forums to see if anyone has been able to get the hardware working. As for the reboot problem - search for the post on editing the kernel to properly shutdown/restart. First do some research to find out what kind of ethernet device and sound device you have. Read the manual, Google, look at the motherboard for clues. Video - try using Macvidia - http://macvidia.starchaser.org LAN - when you find what kind you have, follow the Ethernet link in my signature Sound - when you find out what kind you have, follow the Audio link in my signature Restart - follow the Misc link in my signature and find the Restart fix. stevetheman
i just got number 4 fixed but a new problem has been found. I have a usb mouse and a ps/2 keyboard and the keyboard doesn't work. During the install i had a ps/2 mouse hooked up. Is there anyway to use the ps/2 usb combination or do i need to get a common between the two? stevetheman
when you load the os isn't there supposed to be a gray loading screen? I'm always in verbose mode it seems. Rammjet
I'm always in verbose mode it seems. Look in this file: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist If there is a "-v" under the Kernel Flags parameter, remove it and repair permissions. Rammjet
Try going to Utilities folder -> Installer Right click on Installer, select Get Info, and check the Open using Rosetta box. stevetheman
I don't see that option when I right click on it. I tried the manual install for Macvidia but it just made my screen all stretched so I had to remove it. Is there any other way to get 1280 by 1024? The only option i see in the display panel is 1024x768. Also, what can I do about my onboard Lan? I can't seem to find anything else to try... I really want to get everything working! I also noticed that when I try to play a song in iTunes, even though i can't test the sound because i haven't adressed that issue yet, the time does not change, the song appears not to start playing... Not that that's a huge issue but I thought maybe things could be interconnected here Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36675-help-me-get-this-to-100/#findComment-261221 Share on other sites
