:: 10.4.8 Post Installation Woes

Yo,

 

Ok got the 10.4.8 AMD from Tubegirl (finally i can set up OSX on my Asus A8N-SLI) burned after the PPF patch and it matched the MD5 before and after the PPF. Im good disc was burned at 2x...

 

I took a 40 gig drive and made a solid FAT32 part in windows

then

 

Start>Run>cmd

 

diskpart

select disk 0 (which was the one)

select partition 1

delete partition

select disk 0

create partition primary id=af

exit

 

Booted the disc and went to disk Utility and selected the HD (not the partition) and hit Erase

then selected MAC FS EXT + J, gave name , hit erase

 

went to set up, works fine... installed custom

*question 1 * have Geforce 7, OSX hacks has Nvidia NV40 which is geforce 6... should i select as a nvidia hack or that i have 7 im ok?

 

ok next i installed without the language packs and printer drives.... 2gig's? for drivers? or should i keep that there for other system files, is it safe not to install?

 

ok here my real question... i installed connected to .mac made login, as i get to desktop i had 4 updates 3xOS and 1x itunes.

after install and reboot of updates my MAC OSX finder does not work... no mac bar on top and no desktop shell, but apps work...

 

what broke this ? was i not supposed to update?

 

next when booting i cant get to desktop with bootloader i get error when booted HD it says there is missing partition, but if i put the boot disc in DVD drive and let it count down it lets me get in desktop

 

how can i fix these issues and help would be great

 

after that i need to change resolution , how come if nvidia support is there why only 800x600 when starting?
