Kage_
Sigh... this is what I get for starting this at 10pm I had 10.4.5 running under a Maxxuss install. I d/led the 10.4.8 JaS reseed iso burned and installed. Now when my machine reboots it has the nice little loading darwin message w/ the spinning line. As soon as the Apple comes up my machine reboots. I tried to get into single user mode, but for some reason I cant get in using the normal Apple(Windows) key - S combo. I booted using -v and I see as soon as it starts to load the main OS it crashes. My system layout is in my sig. I have a dual boot into windows just for this occassion. Any assistance is appreciated Thanks, Kage_ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36528-1045-maxxuss-upgraded-to-1048-jas/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
For single user mode, boot -s. What packages did you select in the Customize window during installation? http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=6330 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36528-1045-maxxuss-upgraded-to-1048-jas/#findComment-259819 Share on other sites

Rammjet
Can't select them all, they conflict. Select the Combo update, SSE3 Semthex and 10.4.4 Loginwindow. Select others only if you are positive you need them. Kage_
Nuts... Ok... how do I go back now that I have selected them all? I tried a reinstall, but it wouldn't let me deselect any of them. I'm doing a backup now so if I need wipe and install that's doable... Rammjet
To remove all of the different things you installed, you need to erase the partition and reinstall. Simpling installing overtop won't remove all of them. Kage_
After about 5 - 6 goes at upgrading to 10.4.8 i'm giving up! I can get X to install and run, but the video is locked at 1024 x 768 and QE will not work. I have no idea what the problem is, but this is the first time I havn't been able to get an upgrade to go.
