XanthraX
Hi, I upgraded recently my OSX to 10.4.8 (JaS with semthex kernel). All works good (after patching the hardware correct listing in Apple System Profiler). I have a problem. After unmounting a dmg image (with any methods) it remounts in some seconds. The process can repeats several times. I repaired all the permissions, cleaned the caches and executed all cron services, but this problem remains. Is anybody that had this problem? How can I stop this? The single method I found is relaunching of the finder. Thank you in advance. Rammjet
Wild shot here... Open Safari -> Preferences -> General -> UNcheck the Open "safe" files after downloading. Another thought is that you might have Stuffit Deluxe installed and it is automatically re-opening the DMG for you. XanthraX
Thanks, but i knew this. I was misundestood. If I have a dmg on the desktop and mounting it (dbl click), after unmounting it remounts. Not after download or expand with Stuffit. BTW I have Speed Download default for downloading. Rammjet
No, I understand the problem. But I don't know the exact cause. Never heard of it before. Stuffit Deluxe (the for-pay package not Expander, the free package) has some magic stuff that might auto open any DMG it finds depending upon pref settings - not sure, don't use it, but I know it has some similar features. The only other thing I can think of is somehow a Folder Action has been attached to your Desktop folder and its action is to open DMG's it finds. Right-click on the Desktop and at the bottom of the menu, see if there is an item to Disable Folder Actions. As I said, my answer before (and even now) was a wild shot. XanthraX
Thank you. I have Stuffit 11 deluxe, but I disabled Magic Menu (loads memory in vain IMAO) and the folder action are disabled on the desktop. I thought was some permission problems, because the auto-mounting issue has been disappeared. I repaired the disk permissions with Onyx too. Anyway, many thanks for the feedback.
