Try clicking on the object you want to eject and then click on the Eject button. Or, press and hold the F12 key.

 

Another way to get rid of it is to hold the Command key (Alt on some computers) and use the mouse to drag the Eject button off the menu bar.

yeh its bizarr that it doesnt work. but with it not there it wont bother me too much. i dont think a reinstall would help. cant remember if it ever worked i always press f12. kinda would like to know the reasoning whether its a hardware recognition thing or my system is fuxored up some how.

Take some less coffee dude, there's no need to be coarse. Since xplizid call it "object bar" and there's a windows program that does something very similar, I assumed he was talking about that, so my comment was towards Casey's reply.

 

 

Now, xplizid, you won't find any check box in Keyboard/Mouse preferences (at least there's none in mine). To get ride of it, just drag the icon off the bar while you keep Option pressed.
