If you are booting the DVD, then the system is having trouble reading the DVD.

Make sure your DVD drive is on the same cable as your hard drive. The hard drive should be set to master and the DVD drive to slave using jumpers, not cable select.

Burn your DVD at the slowest speed possible. Use different brand media if available. Also, try different type of media if available (dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd-rw, dvd+rw)

Verify that the firmware on your DVD drive is the latest.

Clean the lense in the DVD drive.

If all else fails, your iso may be corrupt, download it again.

If your problem occurs after installation, what is your system configuration - motherboard, processor, cpu, hard drives, etc.

Ok, see the thing is that I get the exact same error with 10.4.6 before installation. And I get it while booting with the DVD as well as with the ISO mounted by Daemon tools and used inside VMWare.. so hardware error with the DVD drive shouldnt be the problem at all.. suggestion guys??????
