longlife Posted December 20, 2006 Share Posted December 20, 2006 hi everyone im trying to install mac osx86 on a dual boot so i followed the how to in the genius bar. im using windows xp sp2 I havent even started installing mac osx im having some really big problems with os selector. i installed acronis then rebooted then installed os selector and during reboot it started os selector but then its taking soooo long. i have the "processing please wait" message for a good 20 min before it says "error" "failed to read from the sector 63 of the hard disk 1" and i have a choice between "retry" "ignore" " ignore all" and "cancel". i tried cancel and it keeps giving me the same error message but with other sectors like 52.436.223 18.336.945 or the same one with write instead of read. i tried rebooting and pressing F6 but it still launches os selector. i cant do anything cant boot to windows, cant acces the os selector menu, im stuck with those error messages. i did some research on internet but couldnt find anything that helped please i need some help. did this happen to anyone else?? anyone know what i should do?? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36331-acronis-os-selector-for-dual-boot-problems/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

HotLikeFire Posted December 20, 2006 Share Posted December 20, 2006 Yup I have the same problem but it happens when I try to partition my drive using Arconis Director Suite and plus I am on windows vista, so maybe thats the reason why it doesent work. Sailfish Posted December 21, 2006 Share Posted December 21, 2006 My latest favorite is "Easy BCD". Very clean. Loads quickly. Not as subject to corruption. Every Acronis system out there will periodically need the rescue disk when suddely it boots to nothing. Not a big deal but it is alarming the first couple of times.
